Higher Banking Diploma (ICB)


Admission Requirements

1. Applications are welcome from bank and non-bank employees meeting the criteria listed below. Admission is granted according to the general policy of the Institute and the directives of the Board of Directors..

2. Preference is given to UAE Nationals; however, those from other GCC, Arab countries and other nationalities are also welcome to apply.

3. Students entering from the Banking Diploma Program (IFS) and Islamic Banking Diploma (IBD) must have graduated from that program with a GPA of 3.0 or 80% weighted average. Students with a GPA of 2 to 2.4 (70% - 74%) will be considered on a case- by-case basis as space permits. Fifty percent of the seats are reserved for U.A.E. Nationals.

4. Students may be given an exemption for Banking Diploma (IFS) study and be allowed to enter directly into the AICB program. Students seeking an exemption for the Banking Diploma (IFS) requirement must have an acceptable level of relevant working experience and post-secondary educational qualifications. Students who meet these requirements are given a “challenge exam” and if successful are admitted directly into the AICB.

5. Students who are not EIBFS Banking Diploma graduates must have a college or university education and business experience to be considered for the program. All applicants must take the “challenge exam” testing English, Mathematics and General Business Knowledge to be considered for admission.

6. The applicant must pass the English Language Proficiency Exam with a minimum score of 60% (which is equivalent to TOFEL score of 500 and IELTS with a minimum score of 5.0).

7. The applicant must pass a personal interview at the Institute.
