Emirates Institute for Banking and Financial Studies celebrates the graduation of new batches of diploma students and opening of the new buildings for its branch in Abu Dhabi

In coincidence with its Silver Jubilee and elapse of (25) years from its establishment and under the kind patronage and presence of His Highness Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Presidential Affairs, Emirates Institute for Banking and Financial Studies has celebrated the graduation of new batches of diploma students and opening of its new buildings in Abu Dhabi.

The celebration, which was held on the 3rd of June, 2008, started with recital of certain glorious Quranic verses. Moreover, His Excellency Ahmed Humaid Al Tayer, chairman of the board of directors of the Institute, welcomed in his speech at the beginning of the celebration His Highness Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al ANahyan, Minister of Presidential Affairs, the celebration’s sponsor and their Excellencies as well as the valuable guests. His Excellency has also lauded the kind patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al ANahyan, his attendance and continued support of the government of Abu Dhabi. This support is represented in establishing the Institute’s branch in Abu Dhabi, which has become a complete scientific edifice in terms of the services and facilities it provides.

Furthermore, His Excellency has also referred to the continued efforts made by the Institute on the local, regional and international levels, its programs and activities that have contributed to raising the ratio of emiratization and increasing the number of UAE national employees working in the banking sector. In fact, the total number of UAE national employees working in the banking sector reached (32732) including (10566) UAE male and female nationals, constituting (32,2%) of the total number of staff members by the end of 2007 versus (9,38%) in 1997. He has also congratulated the graduates for their success and excellence.

Afterwards, Mr. Abdullah Seif Al Suwaidi has delivered the graduates speech and extended his thanks to His Highness Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al ANahyan for attending and sponsoring the celebration. He has also confirmed the determination of graduates to be loyal and dedicated to our home land, lauded the efforts made by the Institute, as one of the major national educational institutions in the country. He has urged his colleagues to adopt the Institute slogan, which is “lifetime learning, building success …and towards globalization. He has also asked Allah, the Almighty to guide them to the right path to serve the interest of this ever giving country under the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President-May Allah protect him- and his brothers, their Highnesses members of the Supreme Union Council and rulers of the emirates.

After that, His Highness Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al ANahyan, Minister of Presidential Affairs, His Excellency Ahmed Humaid Al Tayer, chairman of the board of directors of the Institute and His Excellency Jamal Al Jassmi, General Manager of the Institute have honored His Highness Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for his major role in serving the banking sector and active participation in establishing pillars of the Institute with the aim of achieving its objectives. They have also honored His Excellency Abdullah Abdulaziz Al Ghurair, who chaired the board of directors of the Institute in 1995 in his capacity as chairman of MashreqBank, and also honored a number of banks in recognition of their role in supporting the Institute experience since its inception. The prominent bank, which was honored, was the U AE Central Bank, as the certificate of appreciation was received by His Excellency Sultan Bin Nasser Al Suwaidi, governor of UAE Central Bank.

His Highness Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al ANahyan has handed over the certificates to the graduates of higher banking diploma and banking diploma. At the end of the celebration, His Excellency Ahmed Humaid Al Tayer, chairman of the board of directors of the Institute, presented His Highness Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al ANahyan with a souvenir gift in the name of the Institute’s management.

From his part and on the sidelines of the ceremony, His Excellency Jamal Al Jassmi, General Manager of the Institute has extended his appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al ANahyan, Minister of Presidential Affairs, for opening the Institute’s branch in Abu Dhabi and sponsoring the students graduation ceremony as well as the silver jubilee celebrations of the Institute. He has also stressed the attention given by His Highness Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al ANahyan to the academic, intellectual and societal institutions in the emirate of Abu Dhabi. This represents his Highness’s keen interest in knowledge and human being. Moreover, Al Jassmi has extended his heartfelt congratulations to all graduates and wished them success in their professional life. He has also extended thanks to all banking and financial institutions, especially UAE Central Bank for their continued support to the programs provided by the Institute. Above all, he has looked forward to see the Institute shall remaining as an edifice and source of knowledge for the well trained UAE national cadres that are capable of serving the entire nation.
